Rubber and Cork centerless grinding wheels, designed for grinding, semi-finishing and finishing applications.

Multi-grain rubber-cork operating wheel

Centerless, flat, cylindrical, internal, profile and face grinding, are only some of the applications that we can satisfy.
The rubber-cork Siapi Smartech wheels they are very suitable for working on centerless grinding machineries, both in SEMI FINISHING and FINISHING operations.
They have the ability to remove up to 0.1 mm. and allow to obtain an excellent finishing degree. In the more tender specification, where there is a greater quantity of cork, the grinding wheel only lowers the crests of the previous grinding, without making any changes to the diameter and shape of the piece. The obtainable roughness ranges from 0.30 to 0.04 microns Ra.

RUBBER AND CORK = EASY TO USE AND LONGER LIFE

The choice is due to the physical peculiarities of the two materials.
The RUBBER, with binding functions, has excellent resilience qualities and allows to obtain the self-dressing effect. THE CORK, with the function of cushioning the abrasive grain, has excellent polishing qualities. Rubber and cork together with the fillers contained in the dough allow to obtain a VERY VERSATILE tool from the point of view of the applications. In fact, the same type of grinding wheel allows you to grind DIFFERENT MATERIALS such as treated and untreated steel, aluminum, hardened and non-hardened stainless steel, chrome, p.v.c., glass and ceramic coatings. Obviously, the performances obtainable vary from case to case. The tenacity of the rubber binder generates a self-dressing effect of the tool, which allows to obtain a LONGER LIFE and PRODUCTIVITY which translates into LOWER cost / piece.

SELF-DRESSING = HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY

A peculiar characteristic of this type of grinding wheel is its ability to revive itself, which usually occurs with a diameter of the ground pieces of less than 20 mm. In these cases, IT IS NOT NECESSARY to perform the DRESSING OPERATION on the wheel, reducing MACHINE STOPS times to a minimum and increasing the productivity.

WHEEL IN MULTIPLE GRITS = REDUCTION OF THE PROCESSING TIMES

On some particular applications, it is possible to produce grinding wheels in multiple grits, allowing to obtain a good removal with a good finishing degree. This peculiarity translates into a REDUCTION in the number of passes with a consequent SAVING OF TIME, MACHINERY and RESOURCES.

SPECIAL BORDER = UNIFORM SURFACE ON THE PIECES

The grinding wheel can also be produced with a special integrated border; it is composed of a low abrasive mix with a finer particle size than that used in the remaining part of the wheel. This special technology allows the machine to be maintained PARALLEL without causing the optical SPIRAL on the piece. The main feature is that it does not produce any removal, but only guides the piece on the exit side, avoiding any vibrations of the same.

RUBBER = REPEATABILITY AND CONSTANCE OVER TIME

The high standard of the production cycle guaranteed through a careful selection of the raw materials and the continuous checks during the process allow a high repeatability in compliance with the strict construction tolera.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE DURING THE TRIALS = QUICK EMPLOYMENT OF THE TOOL

In order to optimize the performance of the grinding wheels during the trial period, Siapi Smartech offers its customers the possibility of a TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE through the presence and cooperation of an operator with many years of experience in grinding.
